Altai Alliance formed to protect Altai!

The Altai Project and several other US nonprofits and donors have formed an international alliance to protect Altai, a spectacular mountain territory in southern Siberia, Russia.

The Altai Alliance, which also includes EII’s Sacred Land Film Project and over half a dozen other groups and individuals, will promote nature protection and sustainable resource use in the Altai Republic, which is poised to become either an environmental catastrophe or a model of how humans can live in harmony with nature.

Currently the Altai Alliance includes nonprofits, individuals, and foundations based in the US who support environmental advocates in Altai and other parts of the world. We may expand to include groups in Altai with whom we are working closely.
